Fruit & Nut Salad

A bowl of goodness! It’s a wonderful natural treat on a hot summer day. The ground dates and almonds give sweetness and thickness to the milk. Gulab and kewara jal impart a nice cooling fragrance; both these ingredients are traditional summer staples in south Asia.

This recipe needs several different ingredients that are listed below.

  • Milk – 2 cups
  • Soaked almonds – 6
  • Dates – 4
  • Dry fig – 1
  • Dry apricots – 2
  • Cashew nuts – 6
  • Walnuts – 4 halves
  • Golden raisins – 1 tbsp
  • 1 Apple
  • 1 Clementine
  • Mango – 1/2
  • Fresh Berries
  • Gulab jal (rose water)- around 1/8 teaspoon (optional)
  • Kewra jal (kewra water) – 1/8 teaspoon (optional)
  • Crushed saffron (optional)

Soak the dates in milk for 30 minutes. Removed skin from almonds. Grind milk with dates and almonds. Take it out in a bowl. Chop the remaining dry fruits and fresh fruits. You can use any fruits as per your liking. Add gulab jal, kewara jal, fruits, dry fruits in milk. Chill and serve in bowls. Sprinkle crushed saffron on top.
