Cabbage Fritters – Gluten Free

Cooking Time: Less than 30 minutes

Some times you just gotta indulge! And this recipe is a win-win with the goodness of cabbage, turmeric & chickpea flour (protein). It is also great for a gluten free diet.

  • Finely chop half a head of medium-sized cabbage
  • Cook in the microwave for 3-4 minutes or until it softens a little
  • Add 1/2 tsp turmeric; salt and chilli powder per taste
  • Take about 1 tsp carom seeds (ajwain), rub them between your palms and add to the cabbage
  • Slowly sprinkle 3 tbsp each of chickpea flour (besan) and rice flour while combining well with the cabbage
  • Sprinkle a little water if the mixture is too dry; you want a thick batter that can be shaped into a flat patty
  • Cover and let the batter sit for an hour
  • Heat vegetable or canola oil on med-high
  • Make small flat patties and fry golden brown
  • Drain excess oil on a paper towel and enjoy with ketchup!
