Paris – Mon Amour

Visiting Paris after 18 years, I wasn’t sure what to expect. Three distinct memories surfaced for sure.

  • Fun climb up the Eiffel Tower; we matched steps and went up by foot as far as it was allowed
  • Sinister looking chimeras and gargoyles from Cathedrale Notre Dame
  • Being disappointed by Monalisa but admiring so many other breathtaking paintings at The Louvre

The weather in Paris was warm and partly cloudy the day we landed in late July 2019. Kids and parents were ready to stretch after the long trans-Atlantic flight from Dallas. I was looking forward to staying at the boutique hotel in the 17th arrondissement. The pictures looked cool when booking, and it did not disappoint! Friendly staff, funky decor and the architecture of old Paris brought smiles to our tired faces. The adventure in groovy Paris had just begun!

We had 2.5 days to cover Paris. Is that enough? Well, if you have unlimited time and budget, you could spend over a week visiting every museum and attraction. However, you can definitely make the most of it in 2 to 3 days, and have a blast doing so. You can access our carefully planned itinerary here.
